After 3 years
3 long years that haven't been so long afterall.

You were asked to decide and commit,
whether hepatitis E occurs 'sporadically' in Hong Kong,
or whether the words 'none of the above' appealed to you more.

I just want to move ahead
I just want to free myself
but it's a struggle.

It is not my intention to bash the exam though.
The exam is fine, although you can say it's unfair they didn't ask this and they didn't ask that, and it's even more unfair they asked this and asked that but didn't ask this or that.
People go around saying why the fuck they tested us on things we didn't really pay attention on while at the same time they believed there's a need to differentiate 17 alpha, 21 alpha and 11 alpha hydroxylase (while some people point out there's only 11 beta but not alpha hydroxylase. I really have no comment there.) You know which pathway is affected but don't remember whether it's 11, 17 or 21 playing the culprit? Too bad.

And oh, how stupid I was to forget AML M3 is a defect in t(15, 17) translocation. I didn't write that down for the short question part. I made up side effects for digoxin. Does digoxin cause hypersensitivity? I don't really know. That's what I wrote down anyway. Tell me there's not even 1 single person on earth who has allergy to that, and I'll let you deduct my marks.

No, it's not about the exam. The questions are fine. We are expected to memorize hard facts anyway. Medicine is about how good you are at memorizing things. How much you are able to regurgitate/apply/make-good-use-of-them is another story, but first you have to memorize. But it's only so weird that this 2 1/2 hour paper seem to judge your effort in 3 years time. While I am contemplating what this whole thing means. Does it really matter how well or how poorly I've performed in this? If I get low marks does it make me less capable? Does it matter if for a second there during the exam I thought to myself, why.is.this.so.difficult? Does it matter everything in the paper looks familiar yet you feel like you don't really know them afterall?

And I digress.

Because the answer doesn't matter, I figured.

So it's a shopping spree again afterwards. It's almost become a ritual to treat myself some music after an exam. CD Warehouse is your best bet in finding something you don't expect to find in Hong Kong, and I totally heart CD warehouse because of this. I stumbled upon the 'R' section. RINGSIDE? Check. Then I flipped through the 'L' section. LIZ PHAIR? Check.

That's how I checked out the CD store so happpily with 2 CDs that I don't expect to be able to buy, at a reasonable price. 2 totally different sounds. Polished vs raw. Dark vs bright. I love the contrast of it.

I don't know why
You want to follow me tonight
When the rest of the world
With whom I've crossed and I've quarreled
Let's me down so
For a thousand reasons that I know
To share forever the unrest
WIth all the demons I possess
Beneath the silver moon.

Maybe you were right
Baby I was lonely
I don't wanna fight
I'm tired of being sorry

Chandler and Van Nuys
With all the vampires and their brides
We're all bloodless and blind
And longing for a life
Beyond the silver moon.

Maybe you were right
Baby I was lonely
I don't wanna fight
Just tired of being sorry

I'm standing in the street
Crying out for you
No one sees me
But the silver moon

It's something that you said
something I overheard

It's something that you should
everything I shouldn't.

There goes somebody's miracle.

Amazing amazing song.

Please excuse my post exam banter. It's only right if I write something about it, afterall I've been studying pretty hard (probably the hardest yet) for this. And I actually had the butterflies so bad last night during shower.
